Should you buy the Redmi Note 12 or Redmi 12 4G?

Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G are decent offerings for the newly discounted price. They are great picks if you are on the market looking for budget phones.

The former brings an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Redmi 12 has an FHD+ panel compared to HD+ screens in the budget. We rarely get an AMOLED panel on phones which are priced under Rs 12,000. This is what makes the Redmi Note 12 4G a premium option to consider in this segment.

The Snapdragon 685 on the Note 12 4G and Helio G88 are quite capable of performing your day-to-day tasks like checking emails, browsing the web, taking calls, social media activities and more.

The Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G phones feature a 50MP primary camera and the results are pretty much as you would expect from budget phones. The daylight shots are decent while the low-light shots are moderate.

On the whole, the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G are good options to consider if you are looking for budget phones. The new price tag makes them an easy recommendation.

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra?

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still worth your money considering the internals and hardware, despite being a generation old. The phone ships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which can handle everything you throw at it be it gaming or resource intense tasks like checking Maps, recording videos, and others. The chipset is slightly overclocked compared to the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The 6.8-inch QHD+ display is very impressive for media consumption or gaming. The colours look punchy and vivid. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is strong enough to handle drops or scratches. The cameras are also very impressive and they are quite functional as well. We get a diverse set of optics like a large primary sensor, an ultra-wide angle unit, and a persicope lens. The battery can last one full day with moderate usage.

At Rs 99,999, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a good choice but if budget is not a limitation, you are better off picking the Galaxy S24 Ultra at only a slight premium. The latter is available at Rs 1,14,999 on Amazon.

Should you buy the iPhone 12?

iPhone 12 launched way back in 2020, which makes the phone almost four years old. The Cupertino giant has unveiled three new iPhone models since the iPhone 12 and will be introducing the iPhone 16 in a few months. Though the phone comes with 5G network support, which keeps it in line with modern phones, it is not a worthy option to consider in 2024.

There are Android options to consider around the Rs 30,000 price segment in terms of features. For example, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, Realme 12 Pro+, OnePlus Nord 3 and the iQOO Neo 7 Pro offer better value for money hardware like a 120Hz AMOLED display, an impressive set of cameras, larger battery units and faster charging speeds. Most importantly, the base 64GB storage doesn’t make any sense considering the increased media consumption and the user habits of clicking/recording photos and videos.

So, if you are in the market looking for a phone at around Rs 30,000, we don’t recommend the iPhone 12 and look for better Android alternatives or newer iPhone models. But if you are totally into Apple phones, then the iPhone 12 is a decent choice, only because it supports 5G and will still get a few major iOS updates.

Should you buy the iPhone 13?

The iPhone 13 price on Amazon is lucrative for those looking to grab an iPhone that has 5G network support. However, it is worth taking into consideration that the iPhone 13 is over two years old and you get a substantial specs’ upgrade with the latest iPhone 15, albeit at almost a Rs 20,000 premium.

The latest iPhone 15 bring a more modern-looking Dynamic Island design compared to the typical notch look we are used to seeing. The primary 12MP camera on the iPhone 13 is replaced with a larger 48MP unit and this results in better and sharper images in comparison. The new A16 processor in iPhone 15 can handle everything you throw at it, be it gaming or resource-intensive tasks. Most importantly, we get a USB Type-C port compared to the dated lighting port.

Besides, Android phones in the Rs 50,000 segment offer stronger specs. For example, there is the iQOO 12 5G, which comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. For those unaware, this is the latest chipset from Qualcomm and offers significant performance improvements. At Rs 64,999, we get the OnePlus 12, which again comes with the same 8-series chipset.

So, if you are ready to spend a premium of close to Rs 50,000, you are better off picking the latest and more premium flagships considering the upgrades in hardware and design.

Should you buy the iPhone 15?

iPhone 15 is the latest offering from Apple and is considered to be a significant upgrade this year. We get the more modern-looking Dynamic Island, which is a big shift from the traditional notch. This puts the standard iPhone in line with the Pro models. However, the only downside is the display refresh rate is limited to just 60Hz. This is disappointing considering we are seeing phones with a 120Hz refresh rate even on budget phones.

The A16 SoC is capable of handling anything you throw at it and there are no instances of any lag or stutters in the UI. Apple also bumped the camera from a 12MP sensor to a 48MP unit. This brings a major difference in the images. The colour-science of the images is vastly superior compared to the predecessors. Most importantly, we get a USB Type-C port on an iPhone and this is enough reason to grab the iPhone 15.

So, if you are eyeing an iPhone, we suggest you get the new iPhone 15 now that the price is discounted hugely it is a great buy and you won’t be disappointed.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE price drops to its lowest with discount on Amazon: should you buy? https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/samsung-galaxy-buds-fe-price-discount-sale-details/ Fri, 09 Feb 2024 09:18:50 +0000 https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/?p=567069 Samsung Galaxy Buds FE gets an attractive discount and is selling at the lowest price since launch. Let's check out the price, offers, specs, and should you buy.

Highlights
  • Samsung Galaxy Buds FE is selling at the lowest price since launch.
  • The Buds FE delivery is free but there is a 7-day replacement at the service centre only.
  • The Galaxy Buds 2 isn’t priced that high and so, we have compared both to see if you should buy the FE.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE launched at Rs 12,999 in October 2023 as an entry-level offering with ANC and a 30-hour battery life claim. After about 4 months, the pair of buds has just received an attractive discount that pegs it the lowest price since launch. Here we will analyse the sale price and bank offers available and see if it makes sense to buy it.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE sale price and availability

  • Samsung Galaxy Buds FE (Black) is currently priced at Rs 8,499 on Amazon India. This is a 35 percent discount from its Rs 12,999 MRP.

  • You can get a flat Rs 3,849 discount on a Citibank debit card or a Rs 3,000 discount on all bank credit cards, which effectively brings down the price to Rs 4,649 (for Citibank users) or Rs 5,499 (for other bank users). There are other bank card offers listed on the website.
  • You can avail of a free delivery option too.
  • However, note that Amazon is offering a 7-day service centre replacement only. Something to keep in mind while you make the purchase!

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE specs

  • Battery estimate: Samsung claims the buds could run for 30 hours (including the charge from the case). With ANC, that drops to 21 hours. Just the buds can last up to 6 hours.
  • Charging: You can top it up with a USB-C port but there is no wireless charging option.
  • Noise Cancellation: You get ANC backed by 3 mics.
  • Audio: You get AAC, SBC and Samsung Scaleable codec support. The company boasts enriched bass output.
  • Colour options: You can pick it in black and white colours.
  • Design: It weighs 5.8 grams and the dimensions are 17.5 x 19.3 x 22.2mm (buds) and 50 x 50 x 27.5mm (case). The buds get an IPX2 rating, but not the case. The buds also have wingtips or stabilizers to better secure the fit in the ear.

Should you buy Samsung Galaxy Buds FE?

  • The new sale price of the Galaxy Buds FE is tempting. But, at Rs 7,599, Galaxy Buds 2 is selling on Amazon.
  • In comparison, the Buds FE is said to have improved ANC, a wing-tip for a more secure fit, and could get more software updates.

  • However, the Buds FE is heavier (5.8g) than the Galaxy Buds 2 (5g) and it lacks wireless charging and its case lacks water resistance.
  • The Buds 2 has a wireless charging option and a more balanced sound profile. The battery life difference isn’t huge.
  • So, you can’t go wrong with either purchase. To save more and if you don’t mind missing wireless charging, go with Galaxy Buds FE.

In case you are wondering if you could wait for the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a), we suggest you do that only if you are tight on budget. Yes, it could be priced lower but you will be getting a less powerful chip, a smaller battery, and no Glyph Interface, among other cutbacks.
