Top tech news this week: Nothing Phone (2a) launch date, Honor X9b India debut and more

This week in tech didn’t see much happening but there’s always some buzz in the smartphone industry. One key announcement was the Nothing Phone (2a) launch date after lots of leaks, reports, and teasers. At the same time, Honor X9b and Redmi A3 launched in India. We also got a good glimpse at the upcoming Galaxy F15 5G’s design. 

HMD, which recently rebranded itself, also announced an event at MWC 2024. We’re expecting new smartphones from the Finnish brand.

Nothing Phone (2a) launching in India on March 5th

Nothing Phone (2a) will launch in India and globally on March 5th. The launch event is scheduled to take place at 5 PM IST. The company has also shared a video, giving us our first look at the device while confirming that it’ll be cheaper than the Phone (1). Nothing Phone (2a) will feature a redesigned camera module and Glyph Interface. It’s also confirmed to come with the most loved features of the Phone (2).

Honor X9b price in India starts from Rs 25,999

Honor X9b launched in India as the brand’s second smartphone after its comeback. It’s a mid-range phone priced at Rs 25,999, and comes with a 1.5K 120Hz display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, 108MP primary camera, and a 5,800mAh battery. Honor X9b has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, and 35W fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy F15 5G design leaked

An exclusive look at the Samsung Galaxy F15 5G design confirms a triple rear camera system vertically stacked. The phone can also be seen in three colour options: Black, Purple, and Mint. The Samsung Galaxy F15 5G is also said to come with segment-first features, including a large 6,000mAh battery and an upgraded display.

Redmi A3 India launched in India

Redmi A3 is a budget phone with a starting price of Rs 7,299. It comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. With the Redmi A3, you get an HD 90Hz display, the MediaTek Helio G36 processor, an 8MP dual AI camera and a 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone also houses a 5MP front camera. 

HMD announces event at MWC 2024

HMD has announced an exclusive event at this year’s MWC on February 25th. Some of HMD’s upcoming smartphones will likely be introduced at the event. Leaks suggest at least two smartphones from HMD with a Unisoc chipset and Android 14. HMD also teased new phones with bright colours reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia phones. The brand also confirmed it will continue introducing new Nokia phones, and other products under the HMD brand.
