Google’s Satellite Connectivity feature accidentally appears on Pixel phones https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/google-satellite-connectivity-feature-accidentally-appears-pixel-phones/ Mon, 04 Mar 2024 08:06:32 +0000 https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/?p=571404 Google appearing to be ready to roll out Satellite Connectivity to Pixel phones.

The post Google’s Satellite Connectivity feature accidentally appears on Pixel phones first appeared on 91mobiles.com.

 • The Satellite Connectivity feature accidentally appears on Google Pixel phones.
 • The feature doesn’t do anything and tapping “Satellite SOS” on a Google Pixel device does not open any menu.
 • This is supposed to send a message to emergency services and shares your location when you can’t connect to a mobile or Wi-Fi network.

Satellite Connectivity has proven to be a functional feature on iPhones and is slowly finding its way to Android flagships. We have seen the new Xiaomi 14 Ultra getting it and OPPO will also introduce a new Find X7 Ultra Satellite edition this month. Now, the Satellite Connectivity feature has started appearing on Google Pixel devices and we get a glimpse of what this feature will be able to do.

Satellite Connectivity on Pixel phones

 • The ‘Satellite Connectivity’ is appearing in Settings > Safety & Emergency on Pixel phones. It can be seen between Emergency SOS and Car Crash Detection.
 • Google appears to have accidentally rolled out the setting widely to virtually all Pixel devices through the recent update to Adaptive Connectivity Services.
 • At the moment, the feature doesn’t do anything. Tapping “Satellite SOS” on a Google Pixel device does not open any menu.
Pixel Satellite Connectivity

Folks at 9to5Google gained access to the menu Google is working for the feature through a rooted Pixel phone. The Satellite SOS page explains: “With your Pixel, you can message emergency services and share your location when you can’t connect to a mobile or Wi-Fi network.” Calling or texting emergency services will be enabled using Google Maps and answer questions about the emergency.

There’s no clarification on whether you can contact anyone outside of emergency services, but the company says it will share the name and phone number from your Google account, as well as contact details for up to three emergency contacts. The page links to a Google support page about what countries are supported but the link is not live yet. We also see demos for satellite connectivity, but neither “Try a demo” nor “Test real mode” are currently working.

There’s no info on when the feature will be live and working but considering the level of information and settings, Google should make it live very shortly.

Should you buy the Redmi Note 12 or Redmi 12 4G?

Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G are decent offerings for the newly discounted price. They are great picks if you are on the market looking for budget phones.

The former brings an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Redmi 12 has an FHD+ panel compared to HD+ screens in the budget. We rarely get an AMOLED panel on phones which are priced under Rs 12,000. This is what makes the Redmi Note 12 4G a premium option to consider in this segment.

The Snapdragon 685 on the Note 12 4G and Helio G88 are quite capable of performing your day-to-day tasks like checking emails, browsing the web, taking calls, social media activities and more.

The Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G phones feature a 50MP primary camera and the results are pretty much as you would expect from budget phones. The daylight shots are decent while the low-light shots are moderate.

On the whole, the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi 12 4G are good options to consider if you are looking for budget phones. The new price tag makes them an easy recommendation.

itel P55+ vs Redmi 13C vs POCO C65: We have a clear winner https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/itel-p55-vs-redmi-13c-vs-poco-c65-a-clear-winner/ Mon, 04 Mar 2024 07:16:14 +0000 https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/?p=571360 Let us draw a thorough comparison between the itel P55+, Redmi 13C, and POCO C65 to find out which phone offers the best value at around Rs 10,000.

The post itel P55+ vs Redmi 13C vs POCO C65: We have a clear winner first appeared on 91mobiles.com.

itel recently disrupted the entry-level smartphone market with the launch of three new POWER series phones: P55+, P55 T, and P55. While all three phones come with impressive specifications and looks, the one that has captured our attention the most is undoubtedly the P55+. The new itel P55+ brings a good blend of modern vegan leather design and features that rightfully justify the price, especially when you put it next to smartphones such as the Redmi 13C and the POCO C65. All three phones were recently launched in India, but only one of them stands out with its exemplary features and specifications. The itel P55+ stands out among the lot with its incredibly quick fast charging capability you do not find on other phones. With that in mind, let us draw a thorough comparison between the itel P55+, Redmi 13C, and POCO C65 to find out which phone offers the best value out of the three.

Unmatched fast charging – Juice up in no time!

When you are looking for a phone for around Rs 10,000, you will likely find phones with big battery capacities. But usually, the charging speeds offered by these phones are not as impressive. itel’s new P55+ rejects that notion with its unmatched fast-charging capabilities that are rare to find in this price category. All three phones offer a 5000mAh battery, but P55+ offers more. The P55+ delivers 45W power output for impressively quick fast and efficient charging, taking the phone miles ahead of the competition.

Optimised for the modern consumer who is always on the go, the P55+ can go from 0 to 100 percent in just 72 minutes. When a user is in a hurry, a 10-minute charge will take the battery level to 25 percent, while a 30-minute charge can give about 70 percent. That is a lot more useful when you compare it with the charging speeds of the competition. Both Redmi 13C and POCO C65 deliver a slower 18W charging, but customers buying the latter will have an underwhelming experience since it comes bundled with only a 10W charger. The itel P55+ emerges as a clear winner in the battery charging department and is a better value for money. The P55+ also gives you control over the kind of charging speed you want for a particular situation. You can choose between three levels of charging: Intelligent, Low Temperature, and Super Speed. These features are, obviously, not available on the Redmi 13C and POCO C65.

Another advantage that the itel P55+ will offer you over the rivals is its less weight. it is noteworthy that entry-level phones are mostly on the heavier side because of large batteries, but the itel P55+ is one of the lightest phones for the price. Despite having the same 5,000mAh battery as the Redmi 13C and the POCO C65, the itel P55+ weighs only 187 grams. The rivals Redmi 13C and POCO C65 are heavier at 192 grams. The lighter P55+ is not only more convenient to carry around, but you will also find it more ergonomic than the rivals. All these factors make the itel P55+ a clear winner in this department.

Best gaming performance – Dedicated gaming features are the key

It is very uncommon to find gaming-centric phones in the entry-level segment, but itel P55+ proves it is not another run-of-the-mill phone with its iBoost technology. This technology essentially gives a boosted performance by prioritising speed and better RAM management when you are playing games. The octa-core processor on itel P55+ works in tandem with 16GB of RAM (8GB in-built and 8GB virtual) to offer the best gaming experience. For customers looking for a good gaming experience without having to break the bank, the itel P55+ should be the choice. The rivals, Redmi 13C and POCO C65, on the other hand, do not pack dedicated gaming features, giving the P55+ an upper hand.

Posh design – Looks do matter!

Entry-level phones often come with boring designs, but itel P55+ proves they do not have to be like that. Standing out from the sea of cheap-looking phones, the P55+ features a vegan leather design that exudes plushness. This premium leather splicing design on the back of the P55+ is inspired by the design of luxury luggage and uses the cutting-edge 3D stitching technique to craft the timeless diamond pattern. The vegan leather finish is available on the Royal Green colourway of the itel P55+. The Redmi 13C and POCO C65, on the other hand, use polycarbonate on their bodies, making them less aesthetic and prone to issues such as being slippery and accumulating dirt.

Smooth and dandy display – Flagship feature at unprecedented price

A smartphone undeniably needs to have an attractive display, because not only it is one of the basic elements of a phone but also the primary way you interact with it. itel P55+ is exactly the phone that offers the display a customer is looking for in this price segment. The 6.6-inch 90Hz screen on the P55+ gives an unmatched viewing experience, but what sets it apart from the competition is the beautifully crafted punch-hole in the centre with the Dynamic Bar functionality. It is a feature available on top-end phones, but P55+ democratises it by making it available for under Rs 10,000. The dynamic bar feature covers the punch-hole design on the display and is an optimised indicator for notifications, battery charging status, calls and face unlock. With this feature, it will be difficult to miss a notification as the dynamic bar instantly catches the attention. The P55+ beats the Redmi 13C and POCO C65 in the display department gracefully.

Superb performance – Buttery-smooth and blazing-fast

The reason why the item P55+ can offer so many features and handle whatever the customer throws at it efficiently is its high-performance processor. This octa-core chipset delivers excellent performance while utilising advanced technology to ensure smooth functioning. What makes the experience even better is the support for UFS 2.2 storage. Catering to the growing needs of customers for storage, the P55+ not only has ample space but is a fast one, making data transfers blazing fast. The storage on all three phones maxes out at 256GB, but the Redmi 13C and POCO C65 support eMMC storage technology, which is underwhelmingly slower. Customers looking for a fast phone will appreciate the storage technology on the itel P55+.

Verdict – itel P55+ is the clear winner

The itel P55+ has emerged as the clear winner in our comparison. Be it the design, storage, performance, battery charging features, or features that customers will find super useful, the P55+ knocks the rivals out of the park. Although the Redmi 13C and POCO C65 give itel P55+ tough competition in some departments, when we consider everything, the P55+ comes out ahead. From our comparison, it is easy to conclude that the itel P55+ comes across as a good option for about Rs 10,000. If you are convinced about the itel P55+, you can buy it at a starting price of Rs 9,999 from mainline online channels.

All Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones to feature Exynos 2500 processor, claims rumour https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/samsung-galaxy-s25-processor-exynos-2500-lineup-rumour/ Mon, 04 Mar 2024 06:59:54 +0000 https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/?p=571362 Samsung could power all the Galaxy S25 series phones with an Exynos 2500 chip as per a new rumour. Let's see why this is both interesting and unlikely.

The post All Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones to feature Exynos 2500 processor, claims rumour first appeared on 91mobiles.com.

]]>
Highlights
 • Samsung Exynos 2500 could exclusively run on all Galaxy S25 series phones.
 • The company could use this approach to segregate the Galaxy S series from the Galaxy Z series.
 • This is symptomatic of where Samsung is leading with its Exynos chips and different Galaxy lineups.

Samsung has yet to use its in-house Exynos chip for all the phones in the flagship S-series. It either segregates Exynos chipsets for some markets like it did with the Galaxy S24 series or fully skips these chips in favour of Snapdragon chips like it did the previous year with the Galaxy S23 series. Well, if a new rumour is to be believed, the South Korean brand could power all the Galaxy S25 series phones with an Exynos 2500 chip.

While this rumour is interesting, it is tough to believe too. Here’s why:

Complete Samsung Galaxy S25 series with Exynos 2500?

The rumour comes from tipster Connor who says in 2025, Samsung will use Exynos exclusively on the Galaxy S series, while the Galaxy Z series could ship with Snapdragon chips and Samsung could choose between Mediatek and Exynos for the Galaxy A-series phones.

We think this is interesting because it allows Samsung to properly distinguish the value proposition between the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series. The Galaxy Z-series would be positioned as the top-of-the-food-chain devices with unique designs, competing against the best from Apple. If Samsung trusts Exynos that much, the Galaxy S lineup could be powerful enough to offer the high-end experience people come to expect out of it, or so we like to believe. Tech analyst Samir Khazaka also believes this is possible in the long term.

However, this is unlikely in the near future at least, since Samsung is known to have signed a multi-year contract with Qualcomm to use Snapdragon for Galaxy chips earlier this year. This nullifies Connor’s claim. Another tipster Revegnus also shares similar scepticism.

Moreover, Samsung has yet to prove the Exynos chips are on par with Snapdragon chips in terms of power efficiency and performance yields. Perhaps, things will change next year. The Exynos 2500 and its rumoured alternative, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are still in development. So, we don’t really know how they’d fare against each other. We’ll see.

Realme has also teased a ‘Dynamic Button’ that looks like it will act as a shortcut key to certain features on the device. It also feels similar to the Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro series.

Realme 12 5G Dynamic Button

 • Realme is teasing this new feature as its first Dynamic Button on a smartphone. It’s located on the side of the phone possibly below the volume keys.
 • The teaser image shows that the Dynamic Button will be able to activate certain features on the phone. These include turning on/off silent mode, flight mode, camera, flashlight, do-not-disturb and more.
 • How exactly the Dynamic Button will work hasn’t been detailed yet but if it’s like the iPhone’s Action Button then you’ll be able to customise it for one action.

According to the teaser, the Dynamic Button is most likely available only on the Realme 12 5G and not the Realme 12+ 5G. The smartphone is also seen in a light purple colour with flat edges, and a circular camera module like the Realme 12 Pro series. In terms of specs, the Realme 12 is confirmed to feature a 108MP camera with 3X in-sensor zoom, NightEye Engine, and cinematic portrait algorithm. The smartphone will house a triple camera setup at the back.

Highlights
 • Apple could launch new iPads and MacBooks through its website.
 • The Apple press announcement is expected as soon as this week.
 • Here’s what we know about the new Apple products.

In recent years, we have seen Apple making announcements through press releases for products with incremental updates. As per fresh reports, the Cupertino brand could go the latter way to launch new iPad Air, iPad Pro, and MacBook Air this week. It would be a quick and efficient way to roll out the said products without the cost and distractions associated with a large-scale event.

Apple iPad Air, iPad Pro, MacBook Air launch event (rumours)

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg claims Apple isn’t planning to host a flashy choreographed event for launching new iPad Air, iPad Pro, and MacBook Air. Instead, it could send out press releases and posts through the Apple Newsroom website. He says the company could publish a “series of online videos and marketing campaigns” for the products.

While he believes the announcement could take place sometime this month or April, MacRumors says it could happen as early as this week. The publication isn’t exactly sure if it would be the aforesaid products though.

Upcoming Apple product announcements: rumoured details

So either in March or April, the following product announcements are expected:

 • 2 iPad Pro: These Apple tablets could come with Apple M3 silicon, slim body, OLED screens, a front camera on the wider side, a rehauled rear camera design and perhaps even MagSafe charging support. The iPad Pro could also get a new Magic Keyboard with a bigger trackpad and the body could be partially aluminium. Apple could even release a new Apple Pencil for these or the Air models mentioned below.
 • 2 iPad Air: These could be powered by Apple M2 SoC. One of the models could have a 12.9-inch screen.
Apple MacBook Air 15
 • MacBook Air 13″, 15″: The MacBook Air 13-inch and 15-inch models could be refreshed with an M3 chip, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E.
 • New colour options for iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands are also being rumoured. MacRumors doesn’t have much confidence in this rumour though.

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra?

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is still worth your money considering the internals and hardware, despite being a generation old. The phone ships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which can handle everything you throw at it be it gaming or resource intense tasks like checking Maps, recording videos, and others. The chipset is slightly overclocked compared to the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The 6.8-inch QHD+ display is very impressive for media consumption or gaming. The colours look punchy and vivid. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is strong enough to handle drops or scratches. The cameras are also very impressive and they are quite functional as well. We get a diverse set of optics like a large primary sensor, an ultra-wide angle unit, and a persicope lens. The battery can last one full day with moderate usage.

At Rs 99,999, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a good choice but if budget is not a limitation, you are better off picking the Galaxy S24 Ultra at only a slight premium. The latter is available at Rs 1,14,999 on Amazon.
