Samsung Galaxy S24 5G Review in 10 Points

design

The Samsung Galaxy S24 offers enhanced ergonomics thanks to the flat edges. Also, the aluminium frame and Gorilla Glass casing contribute to its premium feel and durability. If you're switching from a larger device, the compact, thin and lightweight profile of the device will most likely feel like a breath of fresh air.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It also has HDR10+ support and the bezels are slightly slimmer. The display also boasts a peak brightness of 2,600 nits for an enhanced outdoor visibility.

Rear Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a triple camera setup of 50MP+12MP+10MP. The overall image quality is excellent but the colours are slightly boosted. However, they're sharp and have rich details across lighting conditions.

Front Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S24 has a 12MP front camera. It captures selfies with flawless skin tones and detailed facial features.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features the Exynos 2400 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage. It handles multitasking, browsing, social media, streaming, and gaming smoothly. That said, the gaming experience may be limited due to its smaller screen size.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14. It has a familiar UI with improvements like redesigned quick settings and enhanced performance. Also, Samsung has promised to offer up to seven major updates, which means the S24 will stay relevant until 2031.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a 4,000mAh battery. The device offers a decent battery life for regular use, lasting through the day, but heavier usage may need a mid-day charge. The phone achieved a respectable score of 14 hours and 43 minutes on the PC Mark battery test.

Charging

The Samsung Galaxy S24 supports 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. Sadly, the charging speeds are not the fastest as it takes over an hour to go from 0 to 100 percent and there is no charger in the box.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S24 has compact and lightweight design which is ideal for one-handed use. It also features a vibrant display, flagship level cameras, and smooth performance enhanced by useful AI features for productivity. The charging speeds and the battery life might not the best.
